Mahalo for your support | June 3rd, 2014

June 4, 2014

First and foremost, I would like to thank everyone for their support during our 2014 campaign.  The success we’ve enjoyed thus far would not have been possible without you.  Unfortunately, due to unforeseen personal/family circumstances, I must step down as a candidate for this year’s election.  I will be remaining on the McCully-Mo‘ili‘ili neighborhood board, and also as an advocate for our community.   My door is always open and I look forward to our future discussions.

District Business Walk | January 8th, 2014

January 13, 2014

This past week Emmanuel visited many businesses during a walking campaign to meet local business owners and employees and learn more about their challenges, successes, and ideas. Big or small, these businesses bring an invaluable energy and life to our community, and we believe it is vital to build strong and lasting relationships with them. As a volunteer who participated in the walk commented, “It is amazing to see how open and friendly all the neighborhood businesses are.”  Emmanuel will continue to visit businesses during the upcoming months.  If you are interested in learning more, or have any questions or ideas to share, please email us at

Environmental Colloquium

November 23, 2013

Emmanuel attended a Colloquium hosted by the William S. Richardson School of Law's Environmental Law Program on Thursday, November 21.  The panel included the Honorable Michael D. Wilson,  who previously served as the Chairperson of the Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR), Bill Tam, the current Deputy Director for the Commission on Water Resource Management, and Randy Awo, Chief of the DLNR Division of Conservation and Resources Enforcement (DOCARE).  The topic of discussion was the idea of establishing an environmental court in the state of Hawai'i in order to streamline the judicial process for environmental claims and increase the effectiveness of enforcement practices.  Such an effort, if successful, would help to ensure that Hawai‘i’s unique environment and natural beauty are available for future generations to enjoy.

Happy Veterans Day

November 11, 2013

Mahalo to all our past, present and future veterans for their service and patriotism.
